Ian Ives is a distinguished Mechanical Engineer with more than twenty-five years of experience in heavy industry maintenance, equipment management, and frontline supervision. 

As Operations Director at Central Machine Diagnostic Ltd, Ian has directed maintenance and engineering projects for some of Jamaica’s most critical industries.

Previously, Ian served at Alumina Partners of Jamaica (Alpart), where he held senior roles as Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Planner, and Digestion Area Supervisor.

Ian holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Technology, Jamaica, and is a Certified Vibration Analyst (Level I & II).

Beyond his technical achievements, Ian is recognized for his ability to manage unionized workforces, develop policies, oversee multimillion-dollar budgets, and implement risk management strategies.

Married with two children, his dedication to both family and community reflects the values he brings to governance: integrity, resilience, and a commitment to progress.
