2015, March 16 - Jampro Advisory - Invitation for Exporters to Participate in Cuba Trade Mission

BAS Bulletin – March 16, 2015

Dear exporter:
JAMPRO has embarked on a market development programme for Cuba which encompasses market intelligence gathering, relationship building with key Cuban stakeholders and inward and outward trade missions. These trade initiatives are aimed at building on the foundation cemented with Cuba over the years, and also to help manufacturers break into the Cuban market.  The most recent activities have been participation in the November 2014 FIHAV Trade Show in Havana and JAMPRO’s Exporting to Cuba Workshop held February 4, 2015.

The Honourable G. Anthony Hylton, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce will be leading a delegation including JAMPRO, EXIM Bank and private sector companies on a trade mission to Cuba from April 20-24, 2015. This mission will serve as a follow-up for companies that have participated in previous Cuba related activities to conduct follow-up meetings. Other companies are also being invited to participate in this mission with a view towards eventually breaking into the Cuban market.

The mission will be facilitated by the Cuban Chamber, Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade & Investment (MINCEX), the Embassy of Jamaica in Cuba and the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica.  All companies interested in participating are being asked to complete and submit the attached company and product profiles forms and the Expression of Interest form to enable the pre-arrangement of  ‘best fit’ B2B meetings.  The completed forms should be sent via email to or via fax to 978-4341 on or by Monday, March 23, 2015. The company and product profile forms must be submitted to the Cuban authorities approximately three weeks in advance of the mission to facilitate the timely arrangement of the B2B meetings.

Based on the foregoing information the flight itinerary attached is for information purposes only at this time; as companies will need to satisfactorily complete the above mentioned processes before final selection is made for participation in the trade mission. In addition, please note that space is limited and companies will be accommodated on a first come, first served basis.
